Riverdale Terrace was established in 2012 with a focus on not only providing a safe and independent retirement facility, but also fostering a community-based living experience through our elegant accommodations, nutritious meals, and personal support services. With our social programs, health & wellness programs, and home-style areas, there are lots of opportunities to create bonds and friendships through fun activities and peaceful socialization.
Community Life
What does a day at Riverdale Terrace look like?
After having your morning breakfast, you can sit in one of our sunrooms to and appreciate the waterfront views. If the weather is kind, you can enjoy a walk through our courtyard and explore the animal life in our ponds, and then spend your day mingling with friends, participating in group activities planned by the hour, or enjoying some peaceful time to yourself before lunch.
You can then have a relaxing afternoon in the library or join your friends for billiards in the game room before heading back to your own apartment to get ready for a nice dinner. Depending on the activity schedule, you can spend your evening watching a movie in our theatre room, or enjoy scheduled games or live music in our Social Hall or have a quiet night in your own space. Whether you are feeling social, wanting to enjoy nature, or looking for some independence, there are so many activities and spaces available for you to discover. Through every aspect of your daily life, our staff is dedicated to making Riverdale Terrace a wonderful and peaceful place to live.
Planning Activities
During the week our Activity Director plans group events and activities that reflect a variety of interests to match everyone’s hobbies. An activity calendar is distributed to residents on a monthly basis to keep everyone up-to-date on what upcoming programs and events are offered at each hour. Whether you enjoy games, creative arts, music, or fitness, the Activity Department always has something planned to keep you entertained and social.
For those who appreciate more independent forms of entertainment, Riverdale Terrace includes facilities that connect our residents to more individual-based community activities such as bowling, billiards, mini-putt, movies, and live music.
