Do you allow any kind of pet?
If a resident already has a companion pet (cat or small dog) they may have their pet accompany them, however no additional pets or replacement pets may be added thereafter. Proof of vaccination must be provided.
What are your health procedures regarding COVID?
Riverdale Terrace follows COVID-19 regulations as directed by the Retirement Home Regulatory Authority (RHRA), which hold our license. All staff are vaccinated against COVID-19, masking is a requirement as well as additional PPE when required. IPAC measures are followed and all visitors are screened before entering.
Can I have visitors at any time?
While following COVID 19 protocols, Essential Caregivers are asked to come during reception hours to participate in COVID screening protocols. Monday – Friday 8am-8pm and Saturday – Sunday 8:30am-6pm.
Do you offer transportation services to and from appointments?
Residents must arrange their own transportation and in doing so may use a special rated taxi service we have available for local appointments. There is also a Cornwall Transit bus stop in front of Riverdale Terrace.
What security measures are in place to protect residents?
Our facility has indoor and outdoor video monitoring as well as 24hour attendant care. Residents are also provided an emergency pendant system to call for help in an emergency.
Is there a waitlist?
Yes, there is a waiting list available.
Can I bring my own furniture?
Yes, permanent residents must furnish their own suites.
What happens if my needs change?
Residents’ needs are regularly evaluated. If a change in care is required, our Director of Care works together with the resident and their family to assess if additional services can be provided by our care team or an external agency. Our Assisted Living floor also provides an option for residents who need additional personal care as they age.
